Video-Based eLearning Case Study

Overview

Led the design and delivery of competency-aligned microlearning, standardizing training workflows and ensuring consistent, on-demand learning delivery across the clinical department in Healthcare.

Sponsor
Respiratory Therapy Department at Al Yamamah hospital.

Orgnization
Riyadh Second Health Cluster.

Sponsor’s Requirement
Fix inconsistent ventilator setup (Fabian HFO) causing patient safety risks.

Organizational Outcom
Standardize practice, cut errors, improve patient safety, build staff competency.

Design Approach

Used the ADDIE framework to run the project from analysis to delivery.Needs Assessment
Reviewed performance data and met with unit leads to confirm the training requirement and define the scope.
[Check The Needs Assessment document Here]Design
Set the learning objectives using Bloom’s Taxonomy and produced the storyboard with UDL principles to keep the course consistent and accessible.
Created the design outline and development plan (storyboard) considering UDLThis process kept everything structured decisions, tasks, and revision points were defined, so feedback stayed focused and on time.

Development & Implementation

Set up and ran the full production workflow, coordinating SMEs, defining filming plans, and delegating supporting tasks while handling core production myself to keep delivery on schedule and consistent across modules.Built the course in Articulate 360 using a reusable layout and SCORM configuration to standardize future development.Launched the module in Moodle, implementing tracking, reporting, and maintenance processes to ensure ongoing performance and compliance with competency requirements.

Evaluation & Outcomes

Kirkpatrick’s evaluation as the framework.Reaction
Survey feedback indicated ICU staff valued the flexibility of the video-based training, found it relevant to their daily practice, and expressed greater confidence in handling ventilator setup.
Learning
Higher post-assessment scores and Simulation checklists confirmed staff mastered ventilator setup and safety steps with fewer errors.
Behavior
Clinical assessment in the ICU verified staff transferred these skills into practice, applying correct setup and safety protocols in real scenarios.
Results
ICU data reported fewer incidents, faster readiness, and compliance.
